Dog houses and dog kennels are meant to keep your dog safe, comfortable and protect them from severe weather conditions.  When looking for dog kennels consider structures that are not connected by chain since your dog's fur or collar could get caught and cause injury.  There should be no exposed wires and dog kennels should be properly ventilated.  Make sure it's big enough, high enough and strong enough for your dog. 

When thinking about dog houses consider the kind of dog you have, his personality, the style of the house, the size of your dog and your budget.  Dog houses like dog kennels need to be big enough.  For a dog house, your dog needs enough space to turnaround and stretch his limbs.  But dogs do love to feel cozy, so if the dog houses are too large, your dog could feel lonely. 

Looking at dog houses or dog kennels, always make sure there is adequate ventilation, fresh water available and a dog bed so your best friend can be comfortable.
